2009: Three assets you must safeguard

Teachings to treasure, teachings that transform. In this auspicious year 2015 commemorating the 90th birthday of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, we offer a compilation of key messages from the over 140 discourses in the month of July, including Guru Poornima Days between the years 1958 and 2009. 2009:   Three assets you must safeguard There are three spiritual practices by which love for God, fear of sin, and morality in society can be developed. They are devotion to God ( bhakthi ), the path of wisdom ( jnana ), and detachment ( vairagya ). Activity ( karma ) is a natural and essential attribute of the physical body. Only when the three blades rotate can we have refreshing air; otherwise we feel uncomfo

Today, many people make efforts to realise the Atmic Principle, but their efforts do not succeed because they are unable to get rid of the feelings of ‘I’ and ‘mine’. In fact, they are the obstacles to self-realisation. First and foremost, one has to remove the feeling of ‘I’ (ego). Then realisation will dawn on you. The religious symbol of Christianity (†) also denotes this cutting off of ego. The egocentric assertion of ‘I’ is the root cause for all sorrows, unrest, and difficulties. One has to realise this truth. The feeling of

One can put knowledge into practice only when one has good health. In today's world, many people are suffering for want of proper medical facilities. It is your bounden duty to help the suffering humanity. Only then will the country prosper. Money comes and goes; Morality comes and grows. Today many doctors are commercializing the field of medicine. Such doctors are sinners of the worst kind. He is a true doctor who aspires for the well-being of the patient. We have to encourage such noble doctors. Only through service, can one become the recipient of divi

They constitute the very foundation of the mansion of life. Life will be meaningless even if one of them is absent. Everyone must cultivate and safeguard these four virtues.   We call the human values as Sathya, Dharma, Santhi, Prema and Ahimsa (Truth, righteousness, peace, love and non-violence). In fact, love is the fundamental basis for Truth and righteousness. Love is God, Truth is God, righteousness is God. One bereft of these principles is verily a living corpse. The five human values can be compared to five life princip

2001: Human Birth is to experience Atmic Bliss

Teachings to treasure, teachings that transform. In this auspicious year 2015 commemorating the 90th birthday of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, we offer a compilation of key messages from the over 140 discourses in the month of July, including Guru Poornima Days between the years 1958 and 2009. 2001:     Human Birth is to experience Atmic Bliss Man is getting carried away by Prabhava (worldly influences), himself forgetting his Swabhava (innate nature) and is ruining himself. One can describe Prabhava as Prarabdha (consequences of past actions) and Swabhava as the innate human qualities of truth, righteousness, peace and love.
