37. How to untangle the bags of Karma?

Teachings to treasure, teachings that transform.  Thirumoolar Thavamozhi Motivation 37. How to untangle the bags of Karma?   Our wise elders have classified into three categories the karma that we all experience or create in our human life. Sanchita is the accumulated karma of our actions in our past lives. Prararabdha is a portion from that Sanchita karma that we are expected to experience during this human life. Agamyam is the new karmic effect of our actions during this human life, while we are experiencing the prararabdha karma.   Our Saint Thirumoolar sings beautifully in this song how our wise elders mastered the method to untangle the three karmic knots and remain in bliss, constantly experiencing divine wisdom. தன்னை அறிந்திடும் தத்துவ ஞானிகள் தன்னை – one’s true identity (the atma); அறிந்திடும் – realizing one’s true identity by wisdom; தத்துவ ஞானிகள் – our wise elders who had realized the truth.

36. How to win Divine Grace?

Teachings to treasure, teachings that transform.    Thirumoolar Thavamozhi Motivation 36. How to win Divine Grace?   Our Saint Thirumoolar sings lovingly in this poem that we are able to think of God and cultivate devotion to God, due to the grace of God. Our scriptures proclaim, “God’s blessings bestows one the privilege to pray to Him.” We may think that we have made a decision to pray to God, and think that we are making our individual effort to seek His grace. Our Saint Thirumoolar says, that it is with the blessings of God can one think of praying to Him. To seek God’s grace, we need His blessings. We should pray that we are blessed by God to keep our mind away from swaying in other directions, and remain focused on God. Our Saint Thirumoolar sings about this joy, in this nectarine poem. The lotus feet of God is the boon that a devotee of God earns with...

Teachings to treasure, teachings that transform. Thirumoolar Thavamozhi Motivation 28. Our body is a temple; keep it healthy and clean   The Thirumandiram is filled with experiential knowledge of our Saint Thirumoolar. Our Saint has lovingly composed and sung poems to share with joy his experiences from his personal spiritual practices, in simple Tamil. Though we know that our body will perish one day, there is an important exercise, called “Kaya siddhi”, that helps to keep the body healthy and fit while the body is alive. Our saint Thirumoolar sings nicely explaining the importance of taking care of the body and keeping it healthy. Using our own body, we need to perform the tasks that benefit our soul to achieve the purpose of this life. If our body perishes, before we achieve the purpose of life, it will be a huge waste of life or being born with a human body!

27. The Secret of Creation

Teachings to treasure, teachings that transform. Thirumoolar Thavamozhi Motivation 27. The Secret of Creation Our Saint Thirumoolar sings about the glory and the secret of creation nicely. He says that the “desire” of God was the primary reason for the creation. Yuga after Yuga, after one yuga ends, God creates the universe again and again, just because of his desire in Him. With the same “desire” he created the five elements, the living beings, and the bodies for the beings in which the individual souls reside. உகந்துநின் றேபடைத் தான்உல கேழும் உகந்துநின் றேபடைத் தான்பல ஊழி உகந்துநின் றேபடைத் தான்ஐந்து பூதம் உகந்துநின் றேஉயிர் ஊன்படைத் தானே .   5      In this song, the meaning that our Saint wishes to convey is that the we should a...

24. The form of the Divine

Teachings to treasure, teachings that transform. Thirumoolar Thavamozhi Motivation   24. The form of the Divine Our saints use a metaphor to categorize Divine power into three with three names: Brahma creates the seven worlds; Vishnu protects them; and Rudra destroys them. Our Saint Thirumoolar explains that because of this metaphor, many say that the Bharat culture has educated people to create the impression that there are many gods and instilled the misunderstanding that there are differences between one another.   ஒருவனு மேஉல கேழும் படைத்தான் ஒருவனு மேஉல கேழும் அளந்தான் அளந்தான் – Vishnu who measured the entire world with his foot is the same God. ஒருவனு மேஉல கேழும் கடந்தான்   கடந்தான் – Eswara who is beyond the seven world is the same God.   ஒருவனு மேஉல லோடுயிர்   தானே உலலோடுயிர்தானே - – The God is the body and the individual soul. Our Saint nicely emphasizes that God is the residing as the body and ...
