Teachings to treasure, teachings that transform.  Thirumoolar Thavamozhi Motivation   25. Experiencing the Divine within God is residing in our body together with our soul (life force within).   However, the our soul does not know that form of God that is within the body! Our Saint Thirumoolar sings about this nicely. உள்ளத் தொருவனை உள்ளுறு சோதியை உள்ளம் – soul (Life force); ஒருவனை – the God who is incomparable; உள்ளத் தொருவனை – the incomparable God who is within the soul; உள்ளுறு சோதியை – that effulgent God who is in the form of light. உள்ளம்விட் டோ ரடி நீங்கா ஒருவனை 1 ஓரடிநீங்கா – God who is not even away by a step from the soul உள்ளமுந் தானும் உடனே இருக்கினும் 2 Though God and the soul are residing together உள்ளம் அவனை உருவறி யாதே The Soul does not have the vision of the form of the God! The soul is residing in the body without knowing the God who is also within.   உள்ளத் தொருவனை உள்ளுறு சோதியை உள்ளம்விட் டோ ரடி நீ

The form of the Divine Our saints use a metaphor to categorize Divine power into three with three names: Brahma creates the seven worlds; Vishnu protects them; and Rudra destroys them. Our Saint Thirumoolar explains that because of this metaphor, many say that the Bharat culture has educated people to create the impression that there are many gods and instilled the misunderstanding that there are differences between one another.   ஒருவனு மேஉல கேழும் படைத்தான் ஒருவனு மேஉல கேழும் அளந்தான் அளந்தான் – Vishnu who measured the entire world with his foot is the same God. ஒருவனு மேஉல கேழும் கடந்தான்   கடந்தான் – Eswara who is beyond the seven world is the same God.   ஒருவனு மேஉல லோடுயிர்   தானே உலலோடுயிர்தானே - – The God is the body and the individual soul. Our Saint nicely emphasizes that God is the residing as the body and the individual sou l

Unity in the paths and philosophies of Saints   Often, we wonder which religious path did the saints follow or belong to? Were they saivaites? Or vaishavaites ? or dvaities ? or advaities ? or vishitadvaities ? or saiva siddanthis ? – there were many more ! The saint Thayumanvar very nicely dispels these doubts with one clear explanation. Saint Thayamanavar was a disciple of Mauna guru, who hails from the school of philosophy established by our Saint Thirumoolar. He says “my teacher Mauna guru, who hails from the school of Saint Thirumoolar”. In the beautiful poems that Saint Thayumanavar has composed, one section is on “Philosophical Saint’s account”. In these poems, Saint Thayumanavar praises the philosophical Saints, saying that these Saints have gone beyond the differences in the various religious paths. They experienced a state of

Philosophical wisdom is called using the word “account கணக்கு ” in the traditions of our saints. To know the account means to deeply study and understand the philosophical wisdom. In Sanskrit it is called “Sankhya”. Our Saint sings.   கணக்கறிந் தார்க்கு அன்றிக் காணஒண் ணாதது கணக்கு - the nature of philosoph ical principles He says that those who study and understand the nature of the body and the world can acquire the philosophical wisdom. Only these persons can experience the eternal truth.   கணக்கறிந் தார்க்கு அன்றிக் கைகூடா காட்சி காட்சி – the vision of wisdom The persons who have deeply studied philosophical principles will be able to get the vision of divine wisdom. He goes on to say that only those who have acquired this knowledge can
