The form of happiness

 

Vigneswarar has a good face. He has a happy form with a smiling face. Happiness is fulfillment. We call "fulfillment of happiness" – i.e. ananda poornam. SadaSiva brahmendral has sung as "ananda poornam botoham and sachidananda botoham". When happiness comes, together comes laughter, song and dance. When some one is sad, will he accept if we say "please dance a little?" because he is happy always, he is a dancing ganapathi, wildly dancing gapathi. In many Siva temples in the inner sanctorum's outer walls, the dancing ganapathi is the first among the team of demi gods. Happy, and laughing, carrying his big belly, he will dance.

 

For his happiness, like his face, we can say that his belly is also an index. In Tamil we say, "Laugh as though the stomach will burst". That means the stomach should bloat well to become a belly, isn't it?

Let us come to the belly later, when among the 16 names we come to the lambodarar. We are now in the face, "sumuka" is n't it.

 

Mukam means beginning. In books we write mukavurai for the preface. Therefore, the beginning of the 16 names being called sumukar is very appropriate.
